About This Artist

KATHLEEN PETYARRE

Born circa 1940 at Atnangker (275 kilometres north East of Alice Springs), Kathleen is recognised as one of Australia´s great living artists. She was the recipient of the 13th Telstra NATSIA Award in 1996 and is the subject of a book of essays called `Genius of Place´. She speaks Anmatyerre with English as her second language and divides her time between a home in Adelaide and her community of Mosquito Bore in the Utopia Homelands.
