About This Artist

LORNA FENCER NAPARRULA

Lorna was born ca 1920 at Lajamanu in the Northern Territory.

Lorna began painting on canvas in 1986 through the Warnayaka Art Centre. Her dreamings include Yarla (Bush Potato), Bush Tomato, Caterpillar and Wallaby dreamings.  She has had awards from both the John McCaughey Memorial Art Prize1998 and in 1997  the Gold Coast City Art Award.

Group Exhibitions include: 1988 'People, Place and Art - Hilton Hotel, Adelaide. 1990 'Paint Up Big- National Gallery of Victoria. 1991'Aboriginal Art and Spirituality, High Court of Australia Aboriginal Art'-Australian Embassy , Washington (USA). She has also had a number of private solo exhibitions held since 1997.

Collectors include: Museum of Victoria, National Gallery of Victoria, The Holmes A Court Collection (Perth), Gold Coast City Art Gallery, Gartner Myer Collection, Laverty Collection (Sydney and Margaret Carnegie Collection.
